Who DOESN'T love avocado?! If YOU don't, maybe I can change your mind, and if you DO, here are some ways you can have more fun with them! Here are some of my FAVORITE avocado dips. Now, all of these contain plain yogurt, but that could easily be substituted for an olive oil mayonnaise if you're dairy-free. Another thing is I only make these in small batches because they don't stay in the fridge for more than a few hours (and get brown...which weirds me out when it comes to avo and yogurt for some reason), so I devour it fresh. *You COULD make more of a "dressing" out of it instead using kefir OR a combo of olive oil & lemon juice INSTEAD OF yogurt or mayo*
Ranch
1/2 avocado
1/4-1/3 cup plain full-fat yogurt (I use this)
1 tsp minced green onion
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp dried or fresh parsley
1/4-1/2 tsp sea salt (depending on how salty you like it)
Dash of garlic powder
Dash of black pepper
MASH avocado until smooth, then combine all the rest.
Green Onion & Lemon
1/2 avocado
1/4-1/3 plain full-fat yogurt (I use this)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 tsp lemon zest
1 tsp minced green onion
1/4-1/2 tsp sea salt (depending on how salty you like it)
Dash of garlic powder
Dash of onion powder
Dash of black pepper
MASH avocado until smooth, then combine all the rest.
French Onion
1/2 avocado
1/4-1/3 cup plain full-fat yogurt (I use this)
*1/4 cup caramelized onions
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4-1/2 tsp sea salt (depending on how salty you like it)
Dash of black pepper
MASH avocado until smooth, then combine all the rest.
*Chop onions as fine or thick as you like; sauté in oil of choice on medium heat until they are browned--around 20-30 minutes. Turn heat lower if they are browning too fast.
Lazy Girl(or guy)'s Quick Dip
1/2 avocado
1/4-1/3 cup plain full-fat yogurt (I use this)
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4-1/2 tsp sea salt (depending on how salty you like it)
Dash of black pepper
MASH avocado until smooth, then combine all the rest.
